SUNDAY ICE FISHING

Went down to the river on Sunday to attempt some more ice fishing. It was only about the 5th time this winter I have tried and I had the same result as the previous times....Nothing. Not even a bite. Now, dont get me wrong, an expert fisherman I am not. I did catch a big one last year which left me feeling like a slightly accomplished as a fisherman. That feeling though now has passed. Just as well there is beer to be drank!

Susan the truck had to wear her chains on the back tires for us to get to our shack in the middle of the river.Nice bit of truck bling. Its warmed up a little so the snow was beginning to melt and was well slushy. I know this sounds a little scary, driving on a frozen river with melting snow on top of it but the ice is still about two feet deep so its pretty safe still to drive on.So they tell me.
Lindsay even drove us there and back. I still haven't got the driving bug, but then I've got 9 months to warm to the idea. He didnt catch anything either.
Mike and Catus' ice shack next door to ours

One of our outside holes. You are allowed two holes each and you have to have a licence to fish. The fish cops were on the river when we got there doing checks on everyone. I still havent been there when they call. I think they can do you for drinking....thats probably the only thing I could get in trouble for.
So, as I have no pictures of fish that I caught to post here are picturesof the bait.....closest thing there is to a fish! I dont like putting them on the hooks so much so I mostly use rubber fake fish. *thinks to self* Hang on, maybe thats where I'm going wrong......
